Customs Board Confirms Appointment of DCG, Five ACGs

The Nigeria Customs Service Board (NCSB) has confirmed the appointment of one Deputy Comptroller-General (DCG) and five Assistant Comptroller-Generals (ACGs) following the retirement of some senior officers in the Service.

The appointments were approved during the Board’s 65th Regular Meeting held on September 2, 2026, and chaired by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Professor Taiwo Oyedele.

The newly confirmed DCG is Constantine Dim from the South-East. The five confirmed ACGs are Pascal Chibuoke, Sani Yahaya, Franklin Onyeka, Chibuzor Eyakwaire and Ethelbert Nnaji.

According to the Board, the appointments were made in line with the Federal Character Policy as stipulated in the Nigeria Customs Service Act, 2023.

The Board also approved the upgrade of the Nigeria Customs Service Medical Corps to a sub-department headed by an Assistant Comptroller-General and supported by nine Comptrollers.

In addition, members reviewed the Service’s revenue performance for 2026, noting that Customs generated N4.30 trillion as of June, representing 36.4 per cent of its annual target of N11.074 trillion.

The Board was also briefed on the ongoing recruitment exercise, with successful candidates scheduled for documentation, physical and medical screening, while several disciplinary appeals were considered and resolved.

Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, congratulated the newly appointed management officers and reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to accountability, institutional strengthening and sustained revenue mobilisation.
