NANA SHETTIMA REPRESENTS FIRST LADY AT TURBANING OF KWARA GOVERNOR AS SARDAUNA OF ILORIN

, at the historic turbaning of the Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as the Sardauna of Ilorin by the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ibrahim Kolapo Sulu-Gambari at the Emir’s Palace in Ilorin.

The traditional ceremony marked a significant moment in the history of the Ilorin Emirate as Governor AbdulRazaq became the first person to be conferred with the title of Sardauna of Ilorin a traditional office described as the Defence Minister of the Ilorin Emirate.
The conferment of the title also reflects the historic relationship between the AbdulRazaq family and the Ilorin Emirate as the Governor’s late father Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Folorunsho AbdulRazaq SAN was the first Mutawalle of Ilorin.

The ceremony which took place on the 16 September 2026 at the Emir of Ilorin’s palace brought together senior government officials, governors, traditional rulers, community leaders and other dignitaries from across the country.
