CAS, DHML MD EXPLORE STRONGER PARTNERSHIP FOR ENHANCED MILITARY HEALTHCARE

Ensuring quality and responsive healthcare for personnel of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN), their families and retirees featured prominently on 29 September 2026, as the newly appointed Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Defence Health Maintenance Limited (DHML), Surgeon Rear Admiral L. M. Adams (Rtd), paid a familiarisation visit to the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, at Headquarters NAF, Abuja.

The engagement provided an opportunity to strengthen the existing partnership between DHML and the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and explore practical measures to enhance healthcare delivery. With DHML providing healthcare services through a network of over 24 facilities nationwide, discussions focused on improving the quality, accessibility and responsiveness of medical services for serving and retired Armed Forces personnel and their families.

The CAS also called for sustained attention to the availability of quality drugs and other essential healthcare services, while assuring DHML of NAF’s support for initiatives that would further strengthen its capacity to deliver on its mandate.

The CAS reaffirmed that strong collaboration within the Defence health sector is essential to personnel welfare and operational effectiveness.

He stressed the importance of ensuring that those who serve the nation, alongside their families and retirees, have access to dependable healthcare, while reiterating NAF’s commitment to supporting initiatives that improve healthcare outcomes across the Defence community.
