NIGERIAN ARMY ADVANCES YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, COMMUNITY RESILIENCE THROUGH SPORT IN KADUNA

The Nigerian Army (NA) continues to deepen Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) through initiatives that strengthen community resilience, promote youth development and contribute to a safer and more secure society. On Monday, 28 September 2026, 312 Artillery Regiment, Kalapanzin Barracks, Kaduna, hosted the owner of Ikon Allah Football Academy, Mr Ikon Allah, and popular comedian and content creator, Mr Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, popularly known as Sabinus, who visited the barracks to showcase the activities of the academy.

The Commanding Officer, 312 Artillery Regiment, Lt Col IJ Ufua, who welcomed the guests, stated that the responsibilities of the NA extend beyond the defence of Nigeria’s territorial integrity to supporting initiatives that foster stability and strengthen communities. He described the football academy as a practical CIMIC initiative that provides young people with a safe, structured and disciplined environment to develop their talents while promoting positive values and helping to reduce their vulnerability to crime, drug abuse and violent extremism.

The NA commends Mr Ikon Allah for his investment in youth development and appreciates Mr Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu (Sabinus) for using his platform to amplify positive community-based initiatives. Such partnerships provide opportunities to showcase constructive pathways for youth engagement while strengthening understanding and cooperation between the military and the communities it serves.

The NA remains committed to supporting youth development, sports, community engagement and other initiatives that contribute to peace, social cohesion and national development. The Army will continue to work with credible partners and stakeholders in advancing initiatives that complement its constitutional mandate and contribute to a safer and more resilient Nigeria.
