NIS STRENGTHENS PEACE AND CONFLICT MANAGEMENT CAPACITY WITH OFFICERS’ INDUCTION
In furtherance of its commitment to human capital development and continuous professional capacity building, the Nigeria Immigration Service has achieved another milestone with the successful induction of its officers as Members of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) at the Institute’s 5th Induction Ceremony held on 30th September, 2026.
2. The induction ceremony, held at the Institute, represents a further strategic investment by the Service in enhancing the knowledge, skills and professional competencies of its personnel in peacebuilding, conflict prevention, management and resolution. The programme is designed to equip officers with relevant knowledge and practical tools for effectively addressing emerging challenges in Migration Management, Border Governance and national security.
3. The Director General of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution, Dr. Joseph Ochogwu, formally inducted the participating officers into the National Peace Academy. In his address, he underscored the critical role of peacebuilding, dialogue, collaboration and conflict-sensitive approaches in fostering sustainable peace and national development, while encouraging the newly inducted officers to deploy the knowledge and skills acquired in their respective areas of responsibility.
4. The Nigeria Immigration Service remains committed to advancing continuous professional development of its personnel through strategic partnerships and specialized training aimed at enhancing the Service’s contributions to National Security, peacebuilding and effective Migration Management.
