NYSC DG CHARGES BATCH C STREAM I CORPS MEMBERS ON DISCIPLINE AND NATIONAL UNITY
The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General O. O. Nafiu, has charged the 2026 Batch C Stream I Corps Members to uphold discipline, remain vigilant and conduct themselves responsibly throughout their service year.
The DG gave the charge during a virtual interactive briefing with Corps Members across orientation camps nationwide, shortly after their swearing-in ceremony.
He described the Orientation Course as an important period for preparing Corps Members for national service, noting that drills, lectures, sports and other activities promote discipline, teamwork, resilience, leadership and healthy living.
He urged Corps Members to shun indiscipline, cybercrime, drug abuse and other misconduct, while advising them to remain security-conscious, travel cautiously and use social media responsibly.
Brigadier General Nafiu also encouraged Corps Members to participate actively in SAED, embrace their postings, build relationships across diverse backgrounds and promote national unity through cooperation, understanding and mutual respect.
The briefing featured an interactive question-and-answer session, with Corps Members from different camps seeking clarification on national service, security, community development and life after service. The DG provided guidance and encouraged them to uphold the core values of the Scheme, including patriotism, selflessness, service to humanity and responsible citizenship.
