Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has received members of the Forum of Special Assistants from the 34 Local Government Areas of Katsina State at the People’s Square, Katsina.
The Forum, comprising about 1,700 Special Assistants, used the visit to endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Radda for the 2027 general elections, pledging to mobilize grassroots support across the state.
According to him, the appointees are seasoned politicians, including former lawmakers, council chairmen, secretaries and councillors, who understand the political structure and needs of the people.
“You are our eyes and ears at the grassroots. You understand the needs of the people and you have a critical role in communicating our policies to the communities you represent,” Governor Radda said.
He assured the Forum that their requests for operational support, including motorcycles for mobility, empowerment opportunities, and inclusion in local government contracts, would be looked into. He said he would engage council chairmen on how best to strengthen their operations.
On their request to participate in the forthcoming APC Presidential Campaign flag-off in Kaduna, the Governor assured them it would be considered.
Earlier, Chairman of the Forum, Hon. Mukhtar Abdullahi City of Malumfashi LGA, announced the endorsement of President Tinubu and Governor Radda, noting that members are ready to mobilize massively at the grassroots for their victory in 2027.
He thanked the Governor for his belief in local government autonomy and for creating opportunity for wider participation through the appointment of Special Assistants.
