NIGERIAN ARMY, WORKFORCE CONSULTING STRENGTHEN PARTNERSHIP ON OFFICERS’ CAREER TRANSITION PROGRAMME

The Nigerian Army has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening support for retiring officers through its continued partnership with Workforce Consulting and Management Solutions Limited, following the signing of a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing the Officers’ Career Transition Programme.

The Director General, Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre (NAHFC), Major General Olusegun Samson Abai, received the Group Chief Executive Officer of Workforce Consulting and Management Solutions Limited, Mr Foluso Abribisala, alongside members of his delegation, during a courtesy visit to the Headquarters NAHFC, Abuja, on Wednesday, 4 November 2026. The visit culminated in the formal signing of the agreement between both organisations.

Speaking at the event, Mr Abribisala expressed appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and the Director General, NAHFC, for the opportunity to formalise and strengthen the existing partnership. He described the MoU as a significant milestone and a renewed commitment to consolidating the successes recorded in the previous two cohorts of the Officers’ Career Transition Programme.

He acknowledged the invaluable contributions, sacrifices and years of dedicated service rendered by Nigerian Army officers in safeguarding the nation, noting that supporting them in navigating the transition from military service to post-service careers remained a responsibility his organisation was passionate about.

Mr Abribisala assured the Nigerian Army of his company’s continued commitment to delivering quality services, improving programme outcomes and ensuring that participating officers derive maximum benefits from the initiative. He added that the organisation remained determined to make the programme a transformative experience capable of positively impacting the lives of beneficiaries, their families and the nation at large.

In his remarks, Major General Abai expressed profound appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff for the confidence reposed in him to execute the agreement on behalf of the Nigerian Army. He also acknowledged the presence and support of the Deans, Directors and other senior officials of the Centre who witnessed the landmark occasion.

The Director General described the five-year agreement as a strategic step towards consolidating the existing relationship between the Nigerian Army and Workforce Consulting and Management Solutions Limited, while expanding cooperation in pursuit of the objectives of the Officers’ Career Transition Programme.

He expressed optimism that the vision and aspirations underpinning the partnership would be fully realised and sustained throughout the duration of the agreement and beyond. He emphasised that the signing of the MoU should not be regarded as an end in itself but rather as the beginning of a renewed shared responsibility requiring mutual trust, dedication, cooperation and effective collaboration from both parties.

Major General Abai consequently charged both organisations to demonstrate the necessary commitment towards the effective implementation of the agreement, stressing that its provisions must translate into tangible, measurable and sustainable outcomes, particularly for officers preparing to transition from active military service to the next phase of their professional and personal lives.

He further underscored the importance of translating the shared vision into practical interventions that would equip retiring officers with the requisite knowledge, skills and opportunities to navigate life beyond military service successfully.

Highlights of the occasion included the formal signing of the five-year Memorandum of Understanding by both parties, the presentation of souvenirs by the Director General, NAHFC, and a group photograph to commemorate the event.
