The inauguration marks the commencement of work towards the proposed Finance Bill 2027, aimed at refining Nigeria’s fiscal and tax framework by addressing implementation gaps, reducing compliance burdens, strengthening taxpayer protections, improving investment competitiveness, and enhancing the ease of doing business.

The Minister emphasised that the exercise is a continuation of ongoing reforms, focused on preserving the core principles of the 2025 tax reforms while responding to emerging realities and stakeholder feedback.
