NAF, NASARAWA STATE STRENGTHEN PARTNERSHIP TO CONSOLIDATE SECURITY GAINS

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and the Nasarawa State Government have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration to consolidate security gains and sustain ongoing efforts against kidnapping and other criminal activities in the North-Central region. The commitment was underscored during a high-level engagement between the Air Officer Commanding Tactical Air Command, Air Vice Marshal Michael Ekwueme, and the Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, in Lafia, where the operational successes of the NAF’s 122 Quick Response Wing in enhancing security and stability across the state were reviewed.

The visit underscored the importance of robust civil-military cooperation in addressing contemporary security challenges. Conveying the appreciation of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, for the state’s continued support to the NAF, Air Vice Marshal Ekwueme noted that the allocation of land for the establishment of a permanent NAF Base would significantly enhance operational readiness, improve rapid response capabilities, and strengthen the protection of lives and property across Nasarawa State and the wider North-Central region.

Governor Sule commended the professionalism and sacrifices of NAF personnel, acknowledging their vital role in curbing kidnapping and improving security across the state. He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the NAF through the provision of additional logistics, further consolidating the partnership aimed at safeguarding communities, promoting stability, and advancing national security objectives.
