NAFDAC DG Advocates Regulatory Compliance for Business Competitiveness, Receives NACCIMA Award

The Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, has called on Nigerian businesses to embrace regulatory compliance as a strategic investment in public health, consumer confidence and global competitiveness.

Prof. Adeyeye made the call on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, while delivering the keynote address at the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) Breakfast Roundtable at Providence Hotel, Lagos.

Speaking on the theme, “Strengthening Regulatory Compliance for Competitive Nigerian Businesses: Enhancing Food and Drug Safety for Local and International Markets,” she emphasised that compliance goes beyond fulfilling legal obligations to ensuring the safety, quality and efficacy of regulated products while enabling businesses to thrive in local and international markets.

She highlighted NAFDAC’s regulatory processes, including product registration, licensing, inspections, laboratory testing and post-market surveillance, stressing the importance of Good Manufacturing Practices, robust quality management systems, traceability, technology and continuous staff training. She also urged stronger collaboration among regulators, industry, academia and consumers to strengthen compliance and improve the acceptance of Nigerian products in global markets.

In recognition of her outstanding performance, dedication and contributions to public health protection and industry development, Prof. Adeyeye received an Award of Excellent Performance from NACCIMA at the event.
