ACTING COMMANDER NIGERIAN ARMY WOMEN COMMAND CONDUCTS MAIDEN FAMILIARIZATION TOUR OF UNITS AND FORMATIONS WITHIN GIRI, ABUJA…Seeks Stronger Cooperation, Synergy and Institutional Partnerships
The Acting Commander, Nigerian Army Women Command (NAWC), Colonel Sule Musa Ahmed, on 30 September 2026, conducted a maiden familiarization tour of formations and units within Muhammadu Buhari Cantonment, Giri, Abuja. The tour was aimed at familiarizing the Acting Commander with the leadership, mandates and functions of the various establishments, while strengthening cooperation, collaboration and mutual support towards enhancing operational synergy within the Nigerian Army.
During the tour, the Acting Commander and his entourage visited 1 Women Battalion, Nigerian Army Space Command, Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre (NAHFC), Department of Personnel Management (Army) and Land Forces Simulation Centre Nigeria (LFSCN).
Speaking during the visits, Colonel Ahmed emphasized the importance of collaboration, institutional partnership and synergy among formations and units of the Nigerian Army towards achieving the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy and the strategic objectives of the Nigerian Army. He noted that the Nigerian Army Women Command remains committed to partnering with relevant formations and establishments, particularly in the areas of personnel management, capacity development, training and other areas of mutual interest.
The tour also provided an opportunity for the Acting Commander to appreciate first-hand the roles, responsibilities and capabilities of the visited establishments, while reinforcing the importance of jointness, innovation, institutional cooperation and capacity building in meeting contemporary operational requirements.
Responding during the respective visits, the Commander Nigerian Army Space Command, Major General SA Emmanuel; Director-General, Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre, Major General TE Gagariga; Chief of Personnel Management (Army), Major General AA Adekeye; and Director-General, Land Forces Simulation Centre Nigeria, Major General MB Wabili, welcomed the Acting Commander and expressed their readiness to sustain and strengthen existing relationships with the Nigerian Army Women Command.
The senior officers assured the Acting Commander of their respective formations’ commitment to supporting initiatives that promote professional development, capacity building, knowledge sharing and operational effectiveness.
It would be recalled that Colonel Sule Musa Ahmed assumed office as the Acting Commander, Nigerian Army Women Command, on 22 September 2026, following the handing over of command by Brigadier General MS Adamu.
The visit underscores the commitment of the Nigerian Army Women Command to strengthening inter-command collaboration, fostering institutional partnerships and leveraging available expertise and capabilities towards enhanced operational effectiveness and the overall attainment of the objectives of the Nigerian Army.
