CP DAAOR RECEIVES EDO COMMISSIONER FOR EDUCATION, STRENGTHENS SCHOOL SAFETY PARTNERSHIP AHEAD OF RESUMPTION
The Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, CP Patrick Daaor, PSC(+), MNIPS, on Wednesday, received the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Hon. Osifo Washington, Esq., on a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters, Benin City.
The visit focused on strengthening collaboration between the Edo State Police Command and the Ministry of Education ahead of the resumption of schools, particularly on the activation and strengthening of the Safe Schools Operations across the State.
During the meeting, CP Daaor directed the immediate dissemination of the official telephone contacts of all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Area Commanders to schools within their respective jurisdictions. This, he noted, would provide school authorities with direct access to the Police for prompt reporting, real-time information sharing and rapid response to emerging security concerns.
Both parties also agreed to constitute a joint enquiry/assessment team to conduct field assessments of schools across Edo State, identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities, and recommend appropriate measures to enhance the safety of students, teachers and other members of the school community.
The meeting ended on a cordial note, with both principals exchanging compliments and reaffirming their commitment to sustained partnership in ensuring a safe and secure learning environment across Edo State. The engagement concluded with the exchange of photographs to commemorate the visit.
