DEPOT NIGERIAN ARMY ZARIA SENDS OFF DISCHARGED MASTER WARRANT OFFICERS

The Commandant, Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria, Brigadier General Usman Ahmad, principal staff officers, and heads of departments today, Friday, bade farewell to discharged Master Warrant Officers of the institution in a brief ceremony held at the conference room.

During his farewell message, he urged the discharged soldiers to ensure peaceful relationships with the communities in which they choose to settle. He added that they should be good ambassadors of the Nigerian Army by striving to protect the civil populace and by achieving a balance through engaging in other hobbies and extracurricular activities to keep them fit, as they no longer have the leisure of going to work every day. He further thanked them, on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu (Nigerian Army Medal), for their service to the country and wished them the best of luck in their chosen future endeavours.

Speaking on behalf of the discharged soldiers, the outgoing Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) of the institution, Master Warrant Officer Joshua Agwaru, thanked the Commandant for his mentorship and guidance since he assumed command of the institution. He assured the Commandant, the institution, and the Army at large that they would always be available when needed to serve in other capacities.

Highlights of the event included words of advice by the officers, the presentation of souvenirs and gift items by the Commandant, and group photographs.
