DG NEMA ATTENDS 31ST ANAN NATIONAL CONFERENCE IN ABUJA

The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, was among distinguished dignitaries who attended the opening of the 31st Annual National Conference of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), held in Abuja.

Mrs. Zubaida Umar, who is also a Fellow of ANAN, attended the conference in furtherance of her association with the professional body and in recognition of its sustained efforts towards promoting professionalism, ethical standards, accountability and excellence in accounting practice in Nigeria.

The conference, themed “Redefining the Accountant’s Role in Governance, Reform and National Development,” brought together accounting professionals, government officials, policymakers and other stakeholders to examine the evolving role of accountants in strengthening governance, supporting reforms and advancing national development.

In her address, the President and Chairman of Council of ANAN, Chief Hajia Zuwairat Talatu Kishimi, FCNA, underscored the significance of the conference theme and emphasised the increasingly important role of accounting professionals in promoting transparency, accountability, good governance and effective management of resources.

The participation of the NEMA Director General also reflects the Agency’s commitment to professionalism, accountability and sound financial management in the discharge of its statutory responsibilities.
