DJIBOUTI – MEETING BETWEEN JEAN-NOEL BARROT, MINISTER FOR EUROPE AND FOREIGN AFFAIRS, AND HIS DJIBOUTI COUNTERPART ABDOULKADER HOUSSEIN OMAR

Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, had a meeting with H.E. Abdoulkader Houssein Omar, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Djibouti, and Government Spokesperson, in Paris on 7 September.
The ministers welcomed the dynamic, substantive nature of the relationship between France and Djibouti, based on historical ties and driven by renewed partnership. The meeting allowed them to reaffirm their determination to continue cooperation between France and Djibouti in many areas, ranging from the economy to space and education. The ministers also discussed issues of common interest such as stability in the Horn of Africa and the situation in the Middle East.
The relationship’s dynamism was also reflected in the holding of the France-Djibouti political dialogue on 8 September 2026, which is a special framework for continuing to deepen the solid partnership uniting France and Djibouti.
