FRSC CORPS PROVOST SEEKS STRONGER PARTNERSHIP WITH ARMY MILITARY POLICE

The Corps Provost of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Headquarters Abuja, Corps Commander Livinus S. Audu, has called for stronger collaboration between the FRSC and the Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police (NACMP), particularly in the areas of training, security, discipline and conflict management.

Corps Commander Audu made the call during a courtesy visit to the Headquarters of the Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police on Thursday, 10 September 2026. He said the visit was aimed at strengthening the existing relationship between both organisations and fostering a strategic partnership towards advancing national safety and security objectives.

The Corps Provost noted that the FRSC Provost Office had benefited significantly from military training and professional engagements over the years, particularly in the areas of discipline, administration and investigations. He expressed the Corps’ interest in expanding such engagements through additional training opportunities, seminars and workshops with the Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police to further enhance professionalism and institutional capacity.

Responding, the Provost Marshal (Army), PM (A), Major General Mathias Erebulu, expressed delight at the visit and emphasised the importance of inter-agency cooperation, intelligence sharing and professional interaction.

He noted that a single service or organisation can not effectively address the nation’s complex security and safety challenges alone, stressing the need for complementary capabilities and sustained collaboration among relevant agencies.

The Provost Marshal described discipline as the bedrock of every organisation and affirmed the readiness of the Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police to support relevant capacity-building initiatives of the FRSC, subject to the necessary approvals.

Major General Erebulu further observed that both organisations have complementary responsibilities and could benefit from each other’s expertise, particularly in traffic management, security, discipline, and emerging operational challenges.

The visit reaffirmed the commitment of the FRSC and the Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police to deepening inter-agency cooperation, strengthening professional capacity and leveraging their complementary roles in support of national safety and security.

Present at the courtesy visit were the Chief of Staff, Headquarters NACMP, Principal Staff Officers of the Headquarters and officers of the FRSC.

The highlight of the visit was the presentation of a memento, followed by a group photograph.
