GOC 1 DIVISION RECEIVES NEW COMPTROLLER NIS KADUNA STATE COMMAND ON FAMILIARIZATION VISIT

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army and Commander, Sector 1 Joint Task Force (North-West) Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General ASM Wase, received the newly appointed Comptroller of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Kaduna State Command, Comptroller Osi Ofeimun, alongside members of his management team during a courtesy visit to the Division Headquarters in Kaduna.

Speaking during the visit, Comptroller Ofeimun stated that the purpose of the visit was to formally introduce himself following his recent assumption of duty, and to strengthen the robust operational relationship existing between the Nigerian Army and the NIS in Kaduna State. He noted that both agencies have maintained a long history of cordial relations, particularly in joint security operations, and expressed the readiness of the NIS to build upon this existing cooperation.

The Comptroller further expressed his gratitude to the Nigerian Army for its steadfast support to the Immigration Service during security challenges, specifically along critical border corridors. He also conveyed the appreciation of the Comptroller General of the NIS for the continuous cooperation extended to the Service.

In his remarks, Major General ASM Wase welcomed the Comptroller and his team, reaffirming 1 Division’s commitment to sustaining the strategic partnership with the NIS. He assured the delegation that the Division’s doors remain open for collaborative engagement and pledged continued operational support whenever required.

The GOC further enjoined the Comptroller to maintain seamless coordination with the Division, emphasizing that proactive inter-agency synergy remains vital to successfully mitigating contemporary security challenges within the Division’s Area of Responsibility.

High points of the visit included the signing of the visitors’ book, presentation of official souvenirs, and a group photograph.
