Gov. Radda Raises Financial Support for 560 Women with ₦20,000 Each

–Hails KTIRS Chairman for 30 Years of Integrity and Billions in Revenue Recovery

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has provided an additional ₦5.6 million to 560 women under a grassroots empowerment initiative.

The Funtua initiative, organised by KTIRS Chairman, Alhaji Isiyaku Mohammed, saw Governor Radda raise support for 560 women to ₦20,000 each, totalling ₦11.2 million.

Governor Radda commended the KTIRS Chairman for his integrity, honesty and dedication to public service, noting that he had known him for over 30 years.

“Having known him for more than three decades, I can attest to his integrity and commitment. The achievements recorded by KTIRS in revenue generation and the recovery of outstanding government revenues running into billions of naira are highly commendable,” he said.

The Governor also praised the Service’s leadership and personnel for strengthening the state’s revenue base, urging them to sustain their professionalism and commitment to public service.

Radda explained that he was impressed by the support extended to the women and decided to increase the amount after observing that each beneficiary had initially received ₦10,000.

“I decided to add another ₦10,000 to each of the 560 women, bringing their individual support to ₦20,000. The additional ₦5.6 million was immediately disbursed,” he explained.

Earlier, the KTIRS Chairman, Alhaji Isiyaku Mohammed, said the empowerment initiative was designed to reach communities directly through a structured polling-unit-based approach, with particular attention to women.

He explained that the first phase targeted 20 women from each polling unit, with financial assistance ranging from ₦10,000 to ₦20,000 and each exercise covering between 500 and 600 beneficiaries.

Mohammed noted that empowering women produces wider benefits for families and communities, as the support often extends to household needs and other members of society.

He disclosed that the programme was designed to be conducted at least 15 times before the elections to extend the intervention to more communities.

The KTIRS Chairman further revealed that persons with disabilities, media practitioners and neighbourhood security groups were also included, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to approximately 800.

He appreciated Governor Radda for the additional intervention and recognition of the Service’s achievements, assuring that KTIRS would sustain its grassroots empowerment engagements.

Those in attendance included the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Faruk Lawal Jobe; Senator Muntari Dandutse; the Campaign Director-General, Arch. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa; Party publicity Scribe, Alh. Shamsu Sule; government officials, political stakeholders and community representatives.
