IGP PRESENTATION OF INSURANCE CHEQUES TO BENEFICIARIES IN ABIA STATE COMMAND

Yesterday, 28/09/2026, the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi, psc(+), mnips, JP, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, presented insurance cheques to beneficiaries of deceased and affected personnel of the Command under the Nigeria Police Force Insurance Scheme.

The presentation covered the Group Life Assurance (GLA) and Group Personal Accident (GPA) schemes. A total of twenty-one (21) cheques were presented, amounting to a cumulative sum of ₦17,662,896.70.

Speaking during the event, the Commissioner of Police stated that the gesture reflects the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police to the welfare of officers and their families, particularly those who have paid the ultimate price or suffered loss in the line of duty. He encouraged the beneficiaries to make prudent and profitable use of the funds, especially by investing in and expanding their businesses to secure their future.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the recipients expressed profound appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police for the support and welfare initiative. They also commended the Commissioner of Police for his leadership and facilitation of the process, noting that the gesture would significantly alleviate their burdens.

The beneficiaries further assured that the funds would be judiciously utilized, while praying for continued success of Nigeria Police Force and its leadership.
