NASST HOLDS THIRD QUARTER GRADUATION CEREMONY FOR SEVEN SPECIALISED COURSES

The Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport (NASST), Benin City, Edo State, on Friday, 25 September 2026, held its Third Quarter Graduation Ceremony for students of seven specialised courses conducted by the School.

The ceremony was held in furtherance of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General W Shuaibu’s Command Philosophy, which is to “Advance the Transformation of the Nigerian Army into a More Professional, Combat-Ready and Resilient Force Capable of Discharging its Constitutional Responsibilities within a Joint and Multi-Agency Environment.”

In his welcome address, the Commandant, NASST, Major General Samuel Oluwatobi Adejimi, disclosed that a total of eight courses commenced on 3 July 2026. He explained that while seven courses were graduating during the third quarter, the Young Officers Course (YOC), which runs for six months, was still ongoing.

The graduating courses are the Fire and Safety Officers Course, Drivers Upgrading B2 Course, Drivers Basic B3 Course, Supply/Storeman Upgrading B2 Course, Fire and Safety Upgrading X2 Course, Supply and Transport Combat Cook X1 Course, and Catering Basic B3 Course.

General Adejimi expressed profound appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff and the Commander, Corps of Supply and Transport, for their continued support towards the training and development of personnel. He also commended the dedication and commitment of the School’s training staff, led by the Deputy Commandant, Brigadier General KE Inyang.

The Commandant further acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the School’s institutional and corporate partners, including the University of Benin, Edo State Fire Service, Precious Palm Royal Hotel, Allah Favour Filling Station, 7Up Bottling Company, as well as other hospitality and corporate organisations that have supported the School’s training programmes.

Speaking as the Special Guest of Honour, Major General AA Fadayiro congratulated the graduands on the successful completion of their respective courses. He noted that the training had enhanced their professional competence and better positioned them to contribute effectively to sustaining operational efficiency across Nigerian Army formations.

General Fadayiro charged the graduands to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the courses in addressing contemporary security challenges, particularly in the critical areas of logistics, supply chain management, transportation, catering and fire safety. He urged them to appreciate the efforts of the School in equipping them with the requisite knowledge and competencies, while encouraging them to positively represent the Corps of Supply and Transport and the Nigerian Army in their respective units.

The Special Guest of Honour also commended the staff and instructors of NASST for their commitment and dedication to imparting knowledge and developing competent personnel for the Nigerian Army.

Highlights of the ceremony included the presentation of course highlights by the Deputy Commandant/Director of Studies, Brigadier General KE Inyang; presentation of certificates and awards to distinguished students; as well as the presentation of souvenirs and gifts to retired personnel.
