NEMA Supports 2026 Flood Victims in Bauchi Community
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Gombe Operations Office, has distributed relief materials to households affected by the 2026 flood disaster in Bara Community, Kirfi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The intervention, approved by the Director-General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, was aimed at alleviating the hardship experienced by affected households and supporting their recovery from the impact of the disaster.
Leading the distribution exercise, the Head of NEMA Gombe Operations Office, Mrs. Ummuna Ahmed, reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to ensuring that humanitarian assistance reaches disaster-affected communities promptly, transparently and equitably.
She urged beneficiaries to make judicious use of the relief items and encouraged residents to remain vigilant and heed early warnings and safety advisories issued by relevant authorities.
The Bauchi State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and other stakeholders supported the exercise, ensuring effective coordination and an orderly distribution process.
The Bauchi State Government appreciated the NEMA Director-General for the timely intervention and described the assistance as significant support to the affected community.
It also commended NEMA, SEMA, community leaders, security agencies and other stakeholders for their collaboration towards the successful exercise.
