POCACOV OGUN STATE LEADS HIGH-IMPACT YOUTH ENGAGEMENT AT ROYAL AMBASSADOR EPHPHATHA

2026 Aligned with the vision of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, and under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, the Ogun State Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) team, led by State Coordinator ASP Oluborode Opeyemi, conducted a comprehensive youth sensitization program during the Royal Ambassador Ogun Baptist Conference (Ephphatha 2026).

The high-impact engagement empowered hundreds of teenagers and young adults with critical knowledge to resist negative social pressures, resulting in a collective pledge by all attendees to reject cultism, drug abuse, cybercrime, and related social vices in favor of positive community leadership.

During the interactive sessions, ASP Oluborode Opeyemi and the POCACOV team highlighted the severe, long-term dangers associated with active involvement in cultism, gang violence, substance abuse, cybercrime and other social vices.

The team provided real-world insights into how these illegal activities destroy promising futures, compromise personal safety, and undermine peace within academic institutions and broader society.

The sensitization emphasized proactive values centered on self-discipline, constructive peer influence and personal accountability. POCACOV officers urged the young participants to recognize their role as key stakeholders in building safe environments, demonstrating how strong character choices and early ethical leadership serve as the strongest deterrents against criminal temptation.

The engagement concluded with a unanimous pledge from the participating youth, who committed to upholding high moral standards, resisting illicit temptation, and serving as anti-vice ambassadors within their respective schools and communities. POCACOV Ogun State reaffirmed its dedicated mission to continuous community policing and youth-focused preventative outreach across the state.
