The Nigeria Police Force, Zone 11 Command Headquarters, Osogbo, Osun State, has confirmed the arrest of three male suspects allegedly involved in the exhumation of corpses and the sale of human bones and clothing belonging to deceased persons.

The arrests followed a report and preliminary investigation conducted by operatives of the Anti-Cultism Section of the Zone 11 Command, which uncovered the suspects’ alleged involvement in the illicit activities.

The suspects were identified as Femi Moshood, male, 44, of Alakia, Ibadan, Oyo State; Nurain Oyekunle, male, 57, of Wakajaye Community, Ibadan, Oyo State; and Ismaila Salawu, male, 60, of Oja-Igbo, Apatu Compound, Oyo State, who was described as an herbalist.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Femi Moshood allegedly obtained human bones and clothing belonging to a deceased person from his friend, Nurain Oyekunle, who reportedly introduced him to Ismaila Salawu. The latter is suspected of having been involved in the alleged business of selling human parts and flesh for an extended period.

The three suspects have reportedly made statements to the police regarding their alleged involvement in the crime. Further investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and determine whether other persons are connected to the alleged activities.
