POLICE WELFARE: CP OJAJUNI DELIVERS ₦37.9M SUPPORT TO FAMILIES OF FALLEN OFFICERS IN OGUN UNDER IGP’S WELFARE SCHEME
The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, has presented cheques totalling Thirty-Seven Million, Nine Hundred and Thirteen Thousand, Eighty-One Naira, Seventy-Seven Kobo (₦37,913,081.77) to the families and next-of-kin of deceased Police officers who served under the Command.
The presentation, held today at the Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, was made under the Nigeria Police Force Group Life Assurance Scheme, designed to provide financial support to families of officers who lost their lives in the course of service to the nation.
Representing the CP, DCP Oliver Ezirim, Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department, alongside members of the Command Management Team, presented the cheques to the beneficiaries. The event commenced with a one-minute silence in honour of the departed officers. DCP Ezirim reaffirmed the IGP’s commitment to Police welfare, noting that while no financial assistance can replace the lives lost, the intervention reflects the Force’s appreciation of their sacrifices and its responsibility towards the families left behind.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs John Shito expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police and the Ogun State Command for the welfare support, assuring that the funds would be judiciously utilised for the welfare and sustenance of their families.
The Ogun State Police Command honours the memory of the fallen officers and reiterates that their families remain part of the Police family.
