SCHOOL RESUMPTION: ANAMBRA POLICE BEEFS UP SECURITY IN SCHOOLS

As schools resume for the new academic session, the Anambra State Police Command has beefed up security in and around schools across the state
in line with the Inspector-General of Police’s Safe School Initiative.

The operation, coordinated under the supervision of the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, ACP Harrison Oruruo, involves personnel of the Police, sister security agencies and other stakeholders.

A statement from the office of the office of the police public relations officer SP Ikenga Tochukwu states that the deployment is aimed at strengthening security around educational institutions, sensitizing pupils and students on personal safety, assisting school children with safe road crossing, and ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment.

It notes that the Commissioner of Police, Nnanna Oji Ama, reiterated the Command’s commitment to the safety of children, teachers and the entire school community.

The CP urged school authorities, parents, guardians and students to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious persons or activities to the police.
