PRESS STATEMENT
THE APC ADMINISTRATION SINCE 2015: A REGRETTABLE LEGACY OF FAILED GOVERNANCE
By Comrade Engr. Omenamkpo LeGuru Odumeh
It is with deep regret and concern that we assess the trajectory of governance in Nigeria from 2015 to date under the All Progressives Congress, first under President Muhammadu Buhari and now under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This period will be remembered not for progress, but for a consistent decline in the quality of leadership, accountability, and the welfare of the Nigerian people.
Under the APC, Nigerians have endured:
Systemic Corruption and Weak Institutions
Public institutions have been weakened by pervasive graft, with little regard for transparency or accountability.
Economic Decline and Rising Hardship
The country has experienced unprecedented inflation, a steep rise in the cost of food and essential commodities, and deepening hunger across households.
Mass Unemployment
The failure to establish industries and factories has left millions of graduates and young people without meaningful opportunities for employment.
Insecurity and Shrinking Civic Space
The rise in domestic terrorism and violent crime has been matched by attempts to suppress dissent and restrict civic freedoms.
Erosion of Democratic Values
Persistent allegations of electoral manipulation and the undermining of democratic institutions have damaged public trust in the electoral process.
6. Collapse of Basic Social Services
Our healthcare system remains in crisis, while social safety nets for the poor and vulnerable are either absent or ineffective.
Disregard for Rule of Law
A growing culture of indiscipline, impunity, and autocratic governance has replaced respect for due process and the constitution.
Instead of building a legacy of service and development, the APC has presided over a Nigeria where poverty has deepened, opportunities have diminished, and the basic dignity of citizens is no longer assured.
This is a regrettable chapter in our nation’s history.
Nigeria deserves leadership that is competent, accountable, and committed to the well-being of all its people. The time to demand that standard is now.
Signed,
Comrade Engr. Omenamkpo LeGuru Odumeh
