NEMA DISTRIBUTES RELIEF TO WINDSTORM-AFFECTED HOUSEHOLDS IN TAMBUWAL

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has distributed humanitarian relief materials to households affected by a windstorm in Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The intervention was aimed at cushioning the impact of the disaster on affected families and supporting their immediate needs. Items distributed included rice, beans, maize, seasoning, tomato paste, salt and detergent.

Speaking during the distribution, the Head of Operations, NEMA Sokoto Operations Office, Mr. Tukur Abubakar, who represented the Director-General of the Agency, Haj. Zubaida Umar, said the intervention reflected the Federal Government’s concern for the affected households and its commitment to providing humanitarian support following disasters.

He explained that the relief materials were intended to ease the immediate hardship faced by the families and assist them as they recover from the effects of the windstorm.

The distribution exercise was witnessed by the Chairman of Tambuwal Local Government Council, Hon. Abba Shehu Tambuwal, traditional leaders and representatives of the Sokoto State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).

The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and NEMA for the intervention, describing the assistance as timely support at a difficult period for their families.
