AMBASSADOR ABASS BRAIMAH MEETS NIDO HUNGARY EXECUTIVE, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO NIGERIAN COMMUNITY WELFARE

Budapest, Hungary — Friday, 7 August 2026

His Excellency, Engr. Abasi Ogwime Braimah, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on Friday, 7 August 2026, held a familiarisation meeting at the Embassy with the Executive Members of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO), Hungary Chapter.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman, Hon. Chief Komolafe Omotunde; General Secretary, Aese Agaigbe; Financial Secretary, Oyun Adesoye; Social Secretary, Aese Cynthia Aese; and Treasurer, Erenwa Olaedo Cynthia.

The engagement provided an important platform for the Ambassador and the NIDO leadership to exchange views on issues affecting Nigerians living in Hungary and to explore practical ways of strengthening cooperation between the Embassy and the Nigerian community.

In his remarks, Ambassador Braimah reaffirmed his commitment to promoting unity, cooperation and mutual support among Nigerians in Hungary and across the countries of his accreditation. He stressed the need for collective engagement in advancing the welfare, aspirations and interests of Nigerians in the Diaspora.

His Excellency also emphasised the importance of constructive collaboration between the Embassy, NIDO and other Nigerian community organisations. According to him, a strong partnership among stakeholders remains essential to building a cohesive, vibrant and supportive Nigerian community.

Responding on behalf of NIDO Hungary, the Chairman, Hon. Chief Komolafe Omotunde, assured the Ambassador of the organisation’s readiness to collaborate with the Embassy and provide the necessary support towards initiatives that promote the welfare, unity and progress of Nigerians in Hungary.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with both sides expressing confidence that stronger cooperation between the Embassy and the Nigerian community will further enhance unity, mutual understanding and meaningful representation of Nigerians in Hungary.

The engagement marks an important step towards building a stronger partnership between the Embassy and the Nigerian community, in the shared interest of Nigeria and Nigerians in the Diaspora.
