CP BAKORI ENGAGES COALITION FROM GOBIRAWA, TUDUN FULANI WARDS AND NEIGHBORING AREAS, UNVEILS PLANS FOR MASSIVE COMMUNITY AND OPERATIONAL ENGAGEMENTS

The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Police Command, *CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, SFIPMA, MNIM, MNIPS, MASIS,* today Wednesday, 26th August 2026, received in audience a coalition of community-based associations from Gobirawa and Tudun Fulani Wards and neighboring areas on a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters, Bompai, Kano.

The delegation was led by the Chairman of the Coalition, Alhaji Salisu Adamu Chiroma, and comprised representatives from Cinema, Gangare, Karshen Kwalta, Rijiyar Lemo, Layin Falwaya, Kurna Asabe, Tudun Fulani and other surrounding communities.

The visit was aimed at discussing security and social challenges affecting residents of the communities, and to seek urgent attention, collaboration, and stronger engagement between the Kano State Police Command and community stakeholders.

Speaking on behalf of the coalition, Alhaji Chiroma, representing various community-based associations operating within Kurna Asabe, Tudun Fulani and Rijiyar Lemo, expressed profound appreciation to the Commissioner for granting them the audience.

He commended the tremendous efforts of the Kano State Police Command in maintaining peace, law and order across the State, and particularly appreciated the Command’s commitment to strengthening community policing.

In his response, CP Bakori appreciated the residents for their partnership and constructive engagement with the Police Command. He assured them that all necessary security arrangements would be put in place to guarantee safety and security in the area.

The Commissioner acknowledged the overall decline in the crime rate across Kano State. He, however, observed that communities within Gobirawa and Tudun Fulani Wards and neighboring areas remain the only area yet to be fully liberated from thuggery(Daba) related clashes, and pledged the Command’s determination to address the challenge decisively.

To achieve this, CP Bakori announced plans for massive community and operational engagements in the affected areas. Accordingly, he directed the Area Commander, Dala Area Command, ACP Maina Ngari, to immediately coordinate enhanced security operations within the communities.

He further directed ACP Ngari to commence intensive stakeholder engagement within the coming week, for the Commissioner of Police to interface directly with residents, traditional rulers, youth leaders, and community associations for intelligence sharing, trust-building, and sustainable peace initiatives.

The Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to community-oriented policing in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, *IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM.*

CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori assured the good people of Kano State that the Command remains resolute in its mandate to rid every community of crime and criminality. He urged residents to sustain their cooperation with the Police by providing timely and credible information.

The Kano State Police Command values the partnership of community stakeholders and remains committed to building a safer, more secure, and peaceful Kano State for all.
