DIG MARGARET OCHALLA RECEIVES 2026 GENDER SENSITIVITY AWARD

The Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) proudly congratulates the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Department, DIG Margaret Ochalla, on her conferment with the 2026 Gender Sensitivity Award by the UFUK Dialogue Foundation Nigeria, in recognition of her outstanding commitment to promoting gender sensitivity, inclusiveness and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.

She was honoured under the Individual Award Category of the 2026 Peace and Dialogue Awards, organised by the UFUK Dialogue Foundation Nigeria in collaboration with the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR).

The Force Criminal Investigation Department views the recognition of DIG Margaret Ochalla as not only a personal achievement but also a testament to the growing commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to gender-responsive policing, professional leadership, inclusiveness and the protection of the rights and dignity of all citizens.

The award is described as a well-deserved recognition of DIG Margret Ochalla’s leadership and commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where professionalism, fairness and equal opportunity remain fundamental values being the only Female in the Nigeria Police Force Management Team was not a coincidence but testament of her hardworking, Honesty, Integrity and professionalism.

The FCID therefore appreciates the UFUK Dialogue Foundation Nigeria and the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution for recognising the contributions of the Nigeria Police Force and, particularly, the leadership of DIG Margaret Ochalla to the advancement of gender-sensitive policing and peacebuilding in Nigeria.
