Gov. Radda Bags Federal Recognition for Support to Women’s Economic Empowerment
Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has received a Special Recognition Award from the Federal Government for his contribution to Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) initiatives in the state.
The award was presented during the 26th National Council on Women Affairs, Child Advancement and Social Development, held in Jalingo, Taraba State, on August 14, 2026.
Governor Radda was recognised for his significant support for women’s economic empowerment, particularly through his commitment to the Nigeria for Women Project (NFWP).
The award was received on behalf of the Governor by the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon. Aisha Aminu Malumfashi.
She subsequently presented the award to Governor Radda during the 14th State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House, Katsina yesterday.
The National Council was held under the theme, “Strengthening Families and Advancing the Care Economy for Inclusive Development: Operationalising Nigeria’s Renewed Social Protection Architecture.”
The recognition highlights the Radda Administration’s commitment to improving the economic wellbeing and livelihoods of women across Katsina State.
It also reflects ongoing efforts to expand women’s access to finance, entrepreneurship opportunities and skills development, enabling them to become economically empowered and self-reliant.
Through these interventions, the administration is strengthening household livelihoods and creating sustainable economic opportunities for women to contribute more actively to the socio-economic development of the state.
The award further underscores Governor Radda’s commitment to making women’s empowerment a key pillar of inclusive development and building a stronger, more resilient and economically empowered Katsina State.
