MINISTER’S VISIT TO FGC KANO: SUBSISTING COURT ORDERS MUST BE RESPECTED
PRESS STATEMENT July 20, 2026
MINISTER’S VISIT TO FGC KANO:
SUBSISTING COURT ORDERS MUST BE RESPECTED
The Federal Government College Kano Old Students Association (FGCKOSA) has become aware of the scheduled visit of the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, to FGC Kano on Monday, 20 July 2026. Staff of the College have reportedly been directed to attend, although the specific purpose of the visit has not been disclosed.
FGCKOSA welcomes every legitimate initiative intended to improve the College. However, we respectfully remind the Honourable Minister, the Federal Ministry of Education and all concerned parties that the dispute concerning the proposed Pluck land transaction is presently before the courts and remains subject to subsisting court orders.
Accordingly, no announcement, ceremony, physical activity or administrative action should be undertaken during the visit that could violate the court orders, alter the disputed land, advance the Pluck transaction or prejudice the pending proceedings.
FGCKOSA and its National Executive Council remain united and steadfast in their opposition to the Pluck deal. Our position has not changed: the land and long-term interests of FGC Kano must be protected, and the rule of law must be fully respected.
Signed:
Federal Government College Kano Old Students Association (FGCKOSA)
