MKPAT ENIN CHAIRMAN HAILS GOVERNOR ENO AS 10.83KM ROAD OPENS NEW LINK BETWEEN COMMUNITIES

The Executive Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government, Engr. Emmanuel Inyang, has commended Governor Umo Eno for the completion and commissioning of the 10.83-kilometre Mkpat Enin–Ikot Ekpe–Ikot Afang–Ikot Umiang–Mbioto–Efa Road, describing the project as a major intervention in the development of the area.

The road, which includes a spur to Ikot Enyienge and a 30-metre bridge, was commissioned as part of the Akwa Ibom State Government’s ongoing infrastructure projects across the state.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Engr. Inyang said the newly completed road would strengthen connectivity between communities in Mkpat Enin and Etinan Local Government Areas, facilitate movement of people and goods, and create improved opportunities for residents and businesses.

Representing the Governor at the event, the Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, thanked the people of the area for their support for the administration and assured that requests presented during the ceremony would be conveyed to Governor Eno.

He recalled that the deplorable condition of the road came to his attention during a visit to the palace of the Paramount Ruler of Mkpat Enin, prompting his administration’s decision to rehabilitate it.

Senator Ekong Sampson represented by a medical expert, Prof. Etete Peters commended Governor Umo Eno and appealed for completion of the spur leading to Cottage Hospital, Ikot Ekpaw.

Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Prof. Eno Ibanga, said 7.63 kilometres of the road falls within Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, while 3.2 kilometres is located in Etinan, with a spur leading to the residence of the Paramount Ruler.

Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Etinan Local Government, Hon. Uko Umoh, member representing Etinan State Constituency, Hon. Uduak Ekpo-Ufot, and his Mkpat Enin counterpart, Rt. Hon. Uwem Peter Imoh-Ita, and Paramount Rulers of Mkpat Enin and Etinan, also expressed appreciation to the Governor, stressing the road’s importance to commerce and the movement of residents.
