Cape Verde (Cabo Verde) is an archipelago of ten volcanic islands in the Atlantic Ocean, approximately 500km off the West African Coast.
Its official language is Portuguese.

Nigeria and Cabo Verde (Cape Verde) maintain friendly diplomatic, cultural, and economic relations, primarily cooperating through the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and there are over 1000 Nigerians living in Cabo Verde, working in strategic sectors, particularly the digital and innovation sector.

Our nations collaborate closely on regional policy, security, and health initiatives amongst others, and Nigeria and Cabo Verde launched the Digital Africa Corridor to drive technological innovation, startup growth, and cross-border digital trade between both nations.

Our bilateral discussions prioritized improving direct air links, migration, tourism partnerships, AfCFTA, technical cooperation and cooperative transport frameworks.
