NIGERIAN ARMY IS PEOPLE’S ARMY — OLOMU OF OMU-ARON

The Olomu of Omu-Aron, His Royal Majesty Oba Abdulraheem Oladele Adeoti, represented by the Aro-Aran of Omu-Aron, High Chief Peter A. Gbamigboye, has commended the Nigerian Army for its efforts in combating banditry and other criminal activities in Kwara South.

The royal father made the commendation while delivering his vote of thanks at the Nigerian Army Medical Outreach held in Omu-Aron, Kwara State.

The medical outreach is a continuation of the Department of Civil-Military Affairs’ medical outreach programme in Kwara South, being conducted as part of the Nigerian Army’s non-kinetic activities aimed at strengthening civil-military relations and supporting communities.

In his opening remarks, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shuaib, represented by the Chief of Civil-Military Affairs, Army, Major General Musa Awwal Etsu-Ndagi, appreciated the community for its continued support to the Nigerian Army.

He urged the people to sustain their support, particularly through timely information sharing that could assist security agencies in tackling banditry and other criminal activities in the area.

The medical outreach provided free medical services to over 500 beneficiaries. The services included medical consultations, dental treatment, counselling, laboratory services, general medical check-ups, free drugs and the distribution of mosquito nets.

The Chief of Civil-Military Affairs also conducted the symbolic administration of deworming medication to 10 children aged 10 years and below.

Other dignitaries at the event included Major General Olayemi Lasisi Abidoye (Rtd), Colonel Oladele Babajamu (Rtd) and Major Sam Adewumi (Rtd), among others.
