Today, 19/10/2026. The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi, psc(+), mnips, JP, received a delegation from the Eagle Crime Awareness and Prevention Initiative (ECAPI), led by its South East Zonal Coordinator, Mr. Hillary Uche Nwaogu, at the Command Headquarters Umuahia.

The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between ECAPI and the Command by extending to the state level the existing partnership between ECAPI and the Complaints Response Unit (CRU) at the Force Headquarters. The partnership seeks to enhance public awareness, engagement and effective complaint response mechanisms.

During the visit, Mr. Nwaogu introduced the initiative and outlined its objectives, expressing ECAPI’s commitment to supporting the CRU of the Command in promoting police
accountability, responsiveness and effective public complaint management.

In his response, CP Afolabi welcomed the delegation and commended ECAPI for its efforts towards crime awareness and prevention. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to the Inspector-General of Police’s vision of accountability, professionalism, intelligence-led policing and community policing.

The CP further emphasised that the Command welcomes constructive feedback from members of the public, noting that such feedback helps improve service delivery, strengthen accountability and ensure more responsive policing. He assured the delegation of the Command’s readiness to work with ECAPI towards enhancing public trust and promoting a safer Abia State.
