Distribution of 90,000 Bags of Grains Across Katsina State
As part of our commitment to cushioning the effects of current economic challenges and ensuring that government support reaches those who need it most, yesterday, I flagged off the distribution of 90,000 bags of 100kg assorted grains to vulnerable households across Katsina State’s 34 Local Government Areas.
We have strengthened our distribution mechanism through the Community Level Committees across our 361 wards to ensure fairness, transparency, accountability and proper targeting.
I have directed all stakeholders to ensure that every deserving beneficiary receives the support without discrimination based on social status, personal relationships or other considerations.
While food palliatives provide immediate relief, our long-term solution remains to strengthen food production, livelihoods and household incomes. This is why we are simultaneously investing in agriculture, irrigation, farm inputs, youth empowerment, women’s economic participation and community development.
Our goal is to build a productive, resilient and self-reliant Katsina State where farmers prosper, young people have meaningful opportunities, women participate actively in the economy, and vulnerable citizens receive the support they need.
I appreciate the Community Development Programme, Community Level Committees, Local Government Councils, traditional and religious leaders, security agencies, civil servants and all stakeholders for their support and commitment to the success of this important intervention.
