FIRST LADY OLUREMI TINUBU RENEWS CALL FOR UNITY IN THE BODY OF CHRIST
FELICITATES CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA AT 50
The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has renewed her call for stronger unity within the Body of Christ, emphasising that love is the foundation of the Christian faith.
She made the call at the 50th Anniversary Celebration, Awards and Thanksgiving Service of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
Commending the leadership and members of the Association for their commitment and dedication to propagating the Gospel and keeping the faith, Senator Tinubu urged them to remain mindful of the need for greater unity and oneness, as taught by Jesus Christ in the Bible.
“The theme, ‘Walking Together in Faith,’ resonates with the prayer of our Lord Jesus Christ in John 17:21–22: ‘That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one.’
“I pray, as Christ has prayed over the saints, that all the Christian blocs that make up CAN will continue to be one in Jesus’ name. I wish you many more fruitful years of service in the Lord’s vineyard.”
The First Lady, who was conferred with the Award of Excellence, expressed her appreciation to CAN, noting that the recognition would further inspire her commitment to serving God and humanity.
“I want you to know that this award is a call to greater work in service to God and humanity.”
In his remarks, the President of CAN, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, noted that, having reached the milestone of 50 years marked by efforts to break down walls of division within the Body of Christ, the Association was repositioning itself for nation-building and to serve as a prophetic voice of hope through critical collaboration with the government.
Prayers were offered for the nation and the Christian community as a whole.
