Governor Radda Pledges to Sustain Security, Development in Matazu
…Matazu Is Now Peaceful — District Head
Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has assured residents of Matazu Local Government Area of his administration’s continued commitment to strengthening security operations and sustaining peaceful coexistence.
Governor Radda gave the assurance on Saturday during a courtesy visit to the District Head of Matazu, ahead of the Tinubu-Dikko 2027 campaign rally in the area.
Speaking during the visit, the Governor said his administration would continue to work with security agencies, traditional rulers and community stakeholders to protect lives and property.
He added that the government would sustain efforts to strengthen security, promote peace, improve infrastructure and expand socio-economic opportunities across Matazu and the entire state.
According to him, the administration will continue to collaborate with traditional institutions, elected representatives, community leaders and other stakeholders to address the development needs of the people.
The Governor also thanked the people of Matazu for their support during previous elections, both at the party primaries and general election stages.
He particularly appreciated the Member representing Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmed, for his support, cooperation and contributions to their collective responsibilities.
Governor Radda said the visit was also to appreciate the traditional institution, community leaders and residents for their prayers, cooperation and support over the years.
“We have come to express our appreciation, seek your continued prayers and strengthen our relationship with our traditional rulers and the people of Matazu,” he said.
Beyond politics, the Governor expressed delight at returning to the palace, explaining that his relationship with Matazu extended beyond political considerations because of his family’s longstanding ties to the community.
“Your Royal Highness, this house holds a special place in my life. It was here, 25 years ago, that I was received when my marriage was solemnised. My wife also comes from this family, making my relationship with Matazu a very personal one,” he said.
He recalled the District Head’s humorous description of their relationship as a 50-50 arrangement, with half of his identity belonging to Radda and the other half to Matazu.
Radda further disclosed that he had an elder sister and other family members in the household, describing himself as a son of Matazu and reaffirming his personal attachment to the community.
Earlier, the District Head of Matazu, Alhaji Iro Maikano, commended the Governor for maintaining a cordial relationship with traditional institutions and recognising their role in community development.
He observed that the administration had demonstrated commitment to engaging traditional rulers and responding to the needs of their communities.
The royal father highlighted the construction of Sarki Duku Road and the road linking Giyanka to the Sarki Duku route, saying the projects had improved connectivity and eased movement for residents.
He also appreciated the administration’s response to water supply challenges, recalling instances where the Governor directed relevant officials to visit affected communities and assess their needs.
On security, the District Head disclosed that no security attack had been recorded in Matazu in the last 45 days, attributing the improved situation to collaboration between security agencies and community stakeholders.
