JUBILATION IN KEBBE AS TROOPS RECOVER MASSIVE HERD OF RUSTLED CATTLE

Residents of Asarara Kaura Community in Kebbe Local Government Area of Sokoto State have expressed appreciation to troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, following a swift response to intelligence that led to the foiling of a terrorist attack and recovery of a massive herd of rustled cattle.

The operation followed credible intelligence indicating that armed terrorists had infiltrated the community, terrorised residents and rustled a significant number of livestock. Acting promptly on the information, troops mobilised and intercepted the fleeing terrorists along the Tambuwal–Gadaichi–Gummi Road axis as they attempted to escape with the cattle.

The terrorists engaged the troops in an attempt to break through, but were overwhelmed by the troops’ firepower and fled into the surrounding bushes with varying degrees of gunshot wounds, abandoning the entire herd. The intervention triggered jubilation among residents, who applauded the troops for their prompt response and efforts to protect lives and livelihoods.

The recovered cattle are currently in secure military custody pending formal handover to the Chairman of the Sokoto State Committee on the Recovery of Rustled Animals. The committee will oversee the verification and return of the livestock to their rightful owners.
