NAOWA COMMISSIONS RENOVATED CLASSROOMS AT NKWAGU MILITARY CANTONMENT ABAKALIKI

The Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) has officially commissioned newly renovated classrooms at the NAOWA Group of Schools, Nkwagu Military Cantonment, Abakaliki. The project marks a significant step in NAOWA’s mission to provide quality education and foster a conducive learning environment for children in military communities.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Chairperson NAOWA 82 Division Chapter,
Mrs Hilda Ijeoma Fadairo, who was the Special Guest of Honour for the event, emphasized the transformative power of education, describing it as “one of the most enduring gifts anyone can give a child.” She noted that classrooms are more than physical structures, but “a launchpad for every child’s endless discovery of his or her potentials and capabilities.”

The project, which was carried out by Area

Mrs Comfort Chielo has expanded the school from a nursery to include primary classes. This development provides additional classroom spaces and enhances the learning environment for pupils.

Mrs Fadairo commended Mrs Chielo for her leadership and acknowledged the support of her husband, the Commanding Officer of the 24 Support Engineer Regiment, in ensuring the project became a reality.

Highlighting the importance of sustainability, Mrs Fadairo urged stakeholders to maintain and safeguard the new facilities, stressing that their fullest value will be realized through proper use and preservation. She encouraged the children to respect their teachers and make the best use of the opportunities provided, assuring them of NAOWA’s belief in their potential.

The Chairperson also expressed gratitude to Mrs Safiyyah Hassan Shaibu, the National President NAOWA, for her strategic guidance, and to the General Officer Commanding 82 Division Nigerian Army, Maj Gen Oluremi Ayobami Fadairo for his continued support. She extended appreciation to invited guests, teachers, parents, and members of the press for their commitment to grooming future leaders.

The event underscored NAOWA’s dedication to education as a cornerstone of nation-building, with optimism that the NAOWA Group of Schools will produce future leaders who will contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s development.
