MILITARY CRACKDOWN INTENSIFIES AS FOUR SUSPECTED BOKO HARAM COLLABORATORS ARRESTED, ISWAP SUPPLY NETWORKS SUFFER MAJOR BLOW

Troops of the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation HADIN KAI, have launched another major offensive against terrorist networks, arresting four suspected Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) collaborators in intelligence-driven operations across Yobe and Borno States.

The military operation also uncovered a suspected support network linked to insurgents, as troops intercepted 20 individuals believed to be family members of Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) terrorists attempting to flee following intensified military pressure on their hideouts.

According to military authorities, the operations led to the recovery of a wide range of items suspected to be connected to criminal and terrorist activities. Recovered exhibits included large quantities of suspected Indian hemp, mobile phones, power banks, knives, scissors, torchlights, cigarette rolls, lighters, Pregabalin capsules, Piscof syrup, identity documents, ATM cards and cash totaling ₦14,530.

In a separate intelligence operation in Monguno, Borno State, troops of Sector 3 Garrison working with the 242 Reconnaissance Battalion captured two suspected ISWAP logistics suppliers accused of operating along terrorist supply routes.

Military sources said the suspects confessed during preliminary questioning that they had been transporting food items and other materials to ISWAP fighters operating around Kwatan Dowoshi Village in Kukawa Local Government Area.
